BOOTS IN THE SUMMER
I went to the park today with my grandkids. Josh wanted to wear his boots, because, he said, “All my shoes are dirty.” I pushed them in the swings, and it reminded me of when I used to push their dad and I could never push him high enough or long enough. Nate wanted to climb on the playground equipment and go down the slide by himself. I was sure he was going to fall, but when I tried to help him, he scolded me.
NO MORE DREAMS
A departure from my normal songs, but when you go to school for five years, you have to write a lot of stuff that isn’t exactly your style. And it makes you a better musician. I started with a sad title, and ended up with a hopeful song….
One of my friends says, “You never write anything edgy.” Well, I’m just not an edgy person! And isn’t there enough edgy out there already?
Performed by James Stevens and arranged by Daniel Blomberg.
