Seth is a genius

Seth is a genius

Sometimes you work on a project for a long time and make very little headway. Sometimes you even go backwards. But once in a while, there’s a moment when everything comes together, and you want to shout “SOMETHING IS HAPPENING!”

That moment began with a recent email from Mormon Soprano, introducing me to Seth Adam Smith, which started a flurry of activity. You see, I was looking for a little more content, and Seth was looking for some Christmas music. Just two days later, Seth was sitting at my kitchen counter, which was covered with 2 laptops, a desktop, a monitor, 2 external hard drives, a microphone and a camera, iPods, cell phones, papers, and, last but certainly not least, cords. Oh, the cords!

Do You Have Room?

I wrote Do You Have Room? as a Christmas gift for my family, after reading these inspired words by Thomas S. Monson:

In these busy days there are many who have time for golf, time for shopping, time for work, time for play—but no time for Christ. FOREVER IN MY SOUL

“And now the truth is etched forever in my heart, and burned forever in my soul.”

Listen to Forever in My Soul

This is a song of grief, but also a song of hope. I wrote it for my friends, Boyd and Tamara, who lost a daughter in the prime of her life. The message of the song is this: In our greatest moments of pain, we turn to Him, and in turn, He comforts and lifts us, and increases our faith.

“Somehow, joy will always come. Surely, like the morning sun….”

This recording is sung by Autumn Jones.
