I’m not really a composer. It’s a even stretch to call myself a songwriter. A songwriter is someone like Carole King, who has written 42 songs — that start with the letter “A”! (I don’t even have ONE song that starts with “A.”) But I’ve written a lot more songs than I have here on my website. And I’m working on getting those arranged, recorded and transcribed. It takes a while. In the meantime, I have finally finished a combined Children’s Choir/SATB arrangement of The Miracle, and the written sheet music for Everything Speaks His Name. I sent out an email early this morning about those, and honestly, I cringed when I did it.
The way I felt at that moment reminded me of a former neighbor of ours, who was involved in a fund-raising project for the school where he taught. One day I answered the door, and he stood on my porch with a broom in his hand. He asked, “You wouldn’t want to buy a broom, would ya?” Yeah, that’s exactly how I felt when I sent that email.
I was never cut out for promoting myself — or anything else, for that matter. Except for my faith. That’s something I feel great about sharing, even compelled to share, and in the end, that’s why I keep trying to put a little music out there once in a while. Because that’s one of the best ways I know to share something about my faith.
I hope you will get a sense, through my music, of how I feel about Jesus Christ, His atoning sacrifice for all of us, and His matchless love and mercy.
I have a small bundle of songs for young women that will be coming soon. Check back in a month or so for This Is Our Moment, One, and a yet un-named song about “Standing in Holy Places.” Hey! Maybe I’ll name it something that starts with “A.”

I would love to have our primary & youth sing the Miracle song this Easter. I don’t know if we can afford it, though, can you give me an idea of what it would cost? I’ll probably adjust my group size by what it will cost. We have a young primary, so most are not readers. I’m trying to figure out how many copies would be reasonable (2 for accompanist and director and then I suppose another 9 or so for the kids?)

I asked my 7 yr olds in Primary to fill out an all about me paper. When it came to “favorite song”, they all wrote in “the miracle song”.

Please don’t ever be afraid to promote yourself and your music. You have a true gift from God. I am a vocalist and I have trouble finding songs that I can express emotion and tell the story through.
